Some of the habits which can be helped by hypnotherapy
I have listed below some of the habits with which I can assist. However, if the habit that you want to get rid of is not listed, please contact me, and I will be able to discuss your particular needs.
Hypnosis for smoking
Many people do not realise that smoking is an addiction for only a small group of smokers. It is likely that you only smoke as a safety behaviour – or simply a habit. Perhaps you always smoke when you have a drink of wine – or a coffee – or are with certain friends. Perhaps you only smoke to keep your hands occupied. The fact that smoking is simply a habit or safety behaviour is good news, as you then do not need to undergo ‘withdrawal’ to stop smoking, and hypnosis can be used easily to replace your smoking habit with a better, healthier alternative of your choice. Hypnosis for drinking
People can gradually start to drink too much due to their social environment, e.g., their friends or colleagues go for a drink after work, or at the weekend. Next, this can be reinforced by positive experiences such as relaxation and short term resolution of stress and anxiety after drinking. The good news is that science has discovered that this habit can be stopped, or decreased, by hypnotherapy which speaks directly to the unconscious mind.
Hypnosis for bruxism (teeth grinding and jaw clenching)
Bruxism can happen either when you are awake or asleep. In either case, you probably are not aware that you are doing the behaviour, because it originates in the subconscious. It can be made worse by stress or anxiety. As it originates in the subconscious, discover how we can use hypnosis to treat it by talking with the subconscious.
Hypnosis for bedwetting
Bedwetting can be caused by several factors – e.g. going to bed with a full bladder, and sleeping very deeply so that you not wake up when you need to empty your bladder. It can be made worse by stress or a change in environment. It is governed by subconscious factors, and so the subconscious can be trained to decrease the depth of sleep and thus cause waking when you need to go to the toilet. This enables you to sleep the whole night in a dry bed!
Hypnosis for blushing
When you blush, blood is directed to the face, arms, and other parts of the body. The good news is that this is under subconscious control, and thus it can be changed easily by talking to your subconscious mind using hypnosis. The subconscious can cause blood vessels to dilate or tighten to control the flow of blood. Remember, as blushing can be caused by embarrassment or lack of confidence, these factors can also be treated by hypnosis.
Hypnosis for nail biting
Nail biting generally happens while you are entirely unaware of it!. Some people even get a sense of relief and release of tension when they bite their nails. All of these effects are under the control of your powerful subconscious mind, and thus the good news is that the subconscious can be used to stop nail biting, and substitute it for a different and more healthy stress reduction technique.
Hypnosis for skin picking
People who pick at their skin are generally completely unaware, or only slightly aware, that it is happening. Some people even get a sense of relief and release of tension when they pick at their skin, e.g. with their nails, or teeth. You may pick at the skin on your hands, feet, face, or other area. The reduction in tension, plus the actual skin picking are all under the control of the subconscious mind, and thus we can speak to your subconscious using a step-by-step method to rid you of this unwanted habit, help stop the picking behaviour, and substitute a different healthy alternative.

All of these treatments include analysis of the reasons why you do the activity (pick your skin, bite your nails, etc.), and the triggers and places which encourage you to do them.
Using hypnotherapy, NLP (neurolinguistic programming), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy we will then work together to change your response when facing these situations and triggers, so that you can choose to do something more healthy.
